Apollo 11 40th Anniversary - 2009 Calendar

Just in time for the holidays, the USS Hornet Museum has created a unique 2009 calendar featuring Hornet's participation in the splashdown and recovery of this great adventure. Includes rare photos that provide an inside view of the world-famous event that took place on July 24, 1969, in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

I'm fairly certain a few of the photographs inside, despite their captions, are from Apollo 12 and not Apollo 11 (I believe the cover photo is from a sequence I know well taken while the ship was enroute for Apollo 12, and markings differences on "Old 66" tip me off in others). However, this is by no means a bad thing; it's kind of a bonus, when you think about it.

If you love the splashdown end of things as much as I do, you'll enjoy it.
