I was suprised to see the Art Director for NASA television write that there is "so little footage" available from Gemini XII here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bdl6uBbQycE Perhaps he didn't research far enough to realize two hours of footage is commercially available on the Spacecraft Films set. From what I know, Mark (from Spacecraft Films) leaves behind a copy of the enhances footage for NASA. If there is any Gemini mission which has lots of excellent footage (incuding stunning EVA footage), it's Gemini XII! |

I leave behind footage with the agency that owns it. The National Archives holds the Mercury and Gemini onboard footage now. I have left behind new transfers of the Gemini XII footage with the archives. They are spectacular (as you have seen, thanks much for the comment).Interestingly, few people use lots of the footage due to the effort required in hunting it down and getting copies. I have had several referrals from NASA centers for producers to get footage from us, and if they are credible and not sensationalistic we'll help (More and more formerly credible names we will not provide footage due to this). My interest is in telling the story and improving the archive. Just for the record, I have supplied back footage to NASA TV for some things. I know that sounds strange, but the archive of footage is an interesting thing... sometimes it is just easier to get it from me than to go through "official" channels. Best, Mark |

I know that there are probably all kinds of legal hassles, but I think it would be great if NASA TV simply showed some of your documentaries and then gave you credit. It would give them more visibility and hopefully boost your sales. |

They wanted to do so on some of them, we talked about it, then it didn't happen. I don't remember why as that has been some time ago.Mark | |
