I stumbled across the link below which includes all of the space related covers of LIFE magazine and thought everyone might enjoy it.
The cover of the April 27, 1962 issue shows the prototype of a certain 'Major' who walked on the Moon six years later!

Thanks for the interesting link, Rob. Now I have a better idea on what to look for on eBay.

I count the following number of space related Life magazine covers:

1950's - 9
1960's - 37
1970's - 2
1980's - 3
1990's - 4

I wonder if this tells us anything.
