Some time ago I purchased volume one of TA Heppenheimer's excellent history "The Space Shuttle Decision 1965-1972."

Ever since I have been looking out for volume two and whilst this is available in hardback, volume one is paperback and I wanted then in the same format.

Does anyone know if and when volume 2 is going to be available in paperback and if a volume 3 exists or is planned?

Volume one was originally published by NASA as SP-4221. You can find it here.

Volume two, which was to be published by NASA in the SP series was in fact published by the Smithsonian Institution Press, both in hardback. Then the Smithsonian reprinted volume one apparently in paperback.

I don't know about a paperback edition for volume two and I'm not aware of any existing and/or planned third volume.

Thank you so much for replying to this. I'm amazed that after two years my question has been remembered. It shows the power of this forum. I wil certainly be placing an order and I do recommend the first book to everyone, especially as the whole shuttle programme will very shortly be history.
