U.S. Spacesuits
by Kenneth S. Thomas and Harold J. McMann
US Spacesuits offers a unique insight into the world of spacesuit development. It explains how our routine use of clothing provides a link to the functions of spacesuits, and why spacesuits are far more than just garments -- they are a last refuge for survival in disaster, or act as a personalized spacecraft that allows direct contact and interaction with everything beyond our world.

Successfully meeting the challenges to creating safe, reliable and comfortable spacesuits is an ongoing effort that has spanned over four decades. The book includes over 100 design models and 13 manufacturers that have thus far supported civilian and defense spacesuit programs.

Both authors have unparalleled experience in US spacesuit development, and this ensures a technically accurate and historically interesting text. The book is also illustrated by a unique collection that includes scores of never previously reproduced photographs. US Spacesuits is the most accurate and comprehensive text about the general topic of spacesuits, and US spacesuits in particular, that has ever been produced.

I have the first edition, which is great. Does any one know if the 2nd edition will have any significant changes over the original?

The Springer Praxis website only lists the first edition.

EDIT: Oops, never mind. I just noticed you'd already said that in the original post.

I asked Ken Thomas about the second edition and he reports that it contains mostly corrections from the first one.

Book collectors know that the 1st edition of a book is the most valuable... even with mistakes inside which are corrected in the 2nd edition. Thanks for pointing this out!
