I'm from Cape Town in South Africa. The story of the moon landing has such an incredible ability to inspire people here in South Africa, the generation that put men on the Moon. Over the past few years in SA there has been a renewed emphasis on science and the need for more of our youth to go into that field after school. Specifically the education department have spoken of the need for more school learners to be interested in space and science, especially teenagers looking towards a new career. As I always like to say, science and knowledge equals innovation and innovation equals economic growth and that is what our country needs.
I'm looking to write a book about the space race and culminating with the moon landings. But the book will be given to pupils in primary school, between the ages of 9 and 12. If I'm not able to put together a book, i would then like to purchase in bulk a suitable book and give them to schools across Cape Town.
Could anyone advise where I could research such activity or where I could purchase the books that I'm looking for?
