Attempted to order the book through Barnes & Noble (wanted to actually see the book, before spending $45 on it) -- after waiting a month, the ditributor cancelled the order, apparently unable to get the book. Any opinions out there on the book?

I just saw it at the NASM bookstore. $45 seems rather high for what it is. It has sections on each carrier and what it recovered.

What really struck me was the photo quality--very poor. The images were muddy and low res. Clearly problems with the reproduction. That was disappointing. Although I would like to get this book, there is no way that I'm going to pay that price for it. I want to find a substantial discount.

$45 is too much for this book. Even without the printing problems, it is not worth that much money. For starters, it is not thick, and is not a glossy photo book either. I have seen nicer books for $39 or even $29.

Everything is subjective and relative, but after looking at this book, there's no way I would be willing to pay more than $25 for it, especially considering the poor photo quality.

I was able to order a copy through Borders. Book is navy blue h/c embossed in silver with dust jacket. Previous posters are correct--the repro quality is mediocre at best. Judged on repro & presentation, it probably isn't worth the purchase price, but I don't know of any other print source for this info. I guess to buy or not to buy depends on how much you want a unique book.
