New in the NASA History Series...Exploring the Unknown: Selected Documents in the History of the U.S. Civil Space Program, Volume VI: Space and Earth Science
Edited by John M. Logsdon, with Stephen J. Garber, Roger D. Launius, and Ray A. Williamson
This is the sixth volume in an ongoing series of reference books that are useful for those interested in both space history and space policy. The documents are grouped into four thematic chapters with an introductory essay for each subject. Chapter one is devoted to the solar physics from space, chapter two covers space physics, chapter three details life sciences in space, and the fourth chapter covers the Earth Observing System. David H. DeVorkin, James Green and Brian Dewhurst, Joan Vernikos, and John H. McElroy and Ray A. Williamson wrote the introductory essay for the individual chapters.
John M. Logsdon is Director of the Space Policy Institute at the George Washington University. Stephen J. Garber is a historian in the NASA History Office. Roger D. Launius is the chair of the Space History Division at the National Air and Space Museum. Ray A. Williamson is an analyst at the Space Policy Institute.
