A new set of DVD's (NASA - 50 years Space Exploration) has just been released down here (5 DVD's x $3 USD each) .... only five years after it made its debut in the States .... can't say we don't keep up with what's goin' around. Killing my sarcasm for a minute, $15 for all five is still a pretty good deal.My question concerns the material .... it looks suspiciously like a repackaged "NASA 25 years" 5 x DVD set. Can anybody out there in cS advise ?? Thanks Mike |

I cannot answer your question. But I will say that I have been very disappointed with these compilation sets. The quality is awful. The transfers are bad, the menus often make no sense, etc.I keep hoping that somebody will at least take all of the Apollo mission documentaries (each about 28 minutes long) and put them on a DVD--but using high quality originals. I still have these on tape and they're pretty good, but I long for a DVD. |

Beware anything put out by Madacy. Usually bad quality, with compression artifacts everywhere. |

This DVD set (five DVDs, 11hrs 30mins running time)is on sale in HMV shops for £9.99. Have any British CS contributors bought it? What's on the DVDs? Some earlier posts suggest it might be one to avoid, but maybe this is an improved version using the PAL system? I'm tempted but I would welcome any comments from anyone who has recently bought it. Does it contain the "official" NASA films of each Apollo mission? |

well- am still on ther computer-to answer your question-was in HMV in Douglas-yesterday afternoon, it is a 5 boxed set- brouight out on 15\6\04 it has a red\white and blue cover with an astronaut in his space suit- the Dvds contain footage from the Mercury,Gemini,Apollo through to the Space Shuttle era-and shows the moon walkers, the space eva and other interesting
date. But the Strand shopping centre store
HAD SOLD OUT- they are going like HOT CAKES-
I was told- so I ordered one copy- WELL WORTH £9.99. it is not a cheap version. OKAY. I bought something very simular from KSC shop last year, alsoanother dvd from
a space store in orlando.

Take a look on FREE SPACE. I have purchased this set from HMV- the quality is very good,
not poor, see my post about this.

Hi you all,
At last all the 5 have been viewed.
IN MY OWN OPINION-HUBBY AND MYSELF FOUND THIS SET NOT A WASTE OF MONEY
-----------------------------
for £9.99 this was in our view very interesting,footage we had never seen before-although it was re-done.In all-the look into NASA-and its archives,even though most of it was black\white-well worth watching,A GREAT ASSET TO MY COLLECTION.-with fond memories of Astronauts and moonwalkers we have met.

AFFIRMATIVE- The tapes are being received- the latest came on Friday,3rd,Sept.
Your server is rejecting my mail- i send to you.For some- unknown reason.tried several time, to e-mail you, and someone else-theirs is also being rejected.
I can alwys give a phone call- next time.
Have been flying this weekend with some off-duty Airline Transport Pilots, due to the flights to fLORIDA CANCELLLED, so we had a great weekend, SUN AND FUN-FLY IN.
Am going to Autografica, flying ted and myself over to Liverpool.
