BBC Two will air a Horizon special on Sunday, Dec. 13 at 8 p.m., "How to be an Astronaut," produced in collaboration with the UK Space Agency and ESA.
On the 15th December, Tim Peake will launch into space to be Britain's first astronaut on board the International Space Station.
For the past two years, Tim has been filming a video diary for Horizon showing the risks, pressures and rigorous training required to launch into space. Horizon also talks exclusively to his wife and two children as they prepare to wave him goodbye on his voyage to space.
From training in the Soyuz capsule, centrifuges, space station mockups, virtual reality and a huge pool to replicate spacewalks, to dealing with the physical dangers of weightlessness, witnessing his first launch and spending time away from his wife Rebecca and his two sons, this is an intimate portrait and remarkable insight into the world of an astronaut.

Any clues to when and where Americans can see this?

Generally, BBC Horizon programming is not available outside of the UK.
The program will be available for streaming using BBC's iPlayer after it airs on Sunday, but that too is region-restricted (VPNs aside).

Additional UK coverage of Tim Peake's launch and journey to the space station:
Professor Brian Cox and Dara O Briain present live coverage of British astronaut Tim Peake's arrival at the International Space Station. At the Science Museum in London they are joined by astronauts including former ISS commander Chris Hadfield and Helen Sharman, who can give them the low down on the journey through space, life aboard and what Tim will face from his very first night on the ISS. Plus Dallas Campbell reports live from Kazakhstan with Tim Peake's first phone call home from space.

Just watched the BBC Horizon special on BBC-2 - I thought it was a very well presented programme and Tim Peake came across as very personable. I am definitely looking forward to this mission, perhaps more than previous missions, maybe because of the British connection!

I thought exactly the same. Hope everything goes well on Tuesday and for the rest of the mission.

For those of us in Australia, this was broadcast on SBS 1 on Monday night - unfortunately I only saw the last 10 minutes of it. Hopefully it will soon be up on SBS On Demand.
