Does anyone know if it is possible to send NASA lithos to Johnson Space Center to request specific astronaut's autopen signatures?
Does NASA conduct, or do any specific astronauts or families of deceased astronauts influence policy regarding the application and release of the astronaut's autopen signatures? Any insight here would be appreciated.

NASA does not release deceased astronauts' autopens.

You seem to be at the mail room's mercy when it comes to explicitly requesting autopens. I've tried it in the past and got no reply. Other people have had no problem whatsoever.
And the previous responder is correct. No autopens from deceased astronauts are produced. Rumor has it that the "matrix" (which does not apply to astronauts in the program after the early 1990s) is destroyed after death, but I have no evidence on that one way or the other.

Has Johnson Space Center public affairs change their policy on having individual astronaut photos autopenned?
My letter came back with a note that they do not autopen photos and I would have to write to the astronaut?
