I know this will be purely opinion based, but I'm curious about everyone's thoughts.

I'm working on a through-the-mail multi-signed cover. Because of the size and placement of the first signature (I didn't really think about getting signed by more than the one individual at first, so I didn't request that they leave more room), there's only room for one or two more additions on the front.

Since the unsigned cover is fairly cheap and common, do you guys think it'd be better to start a new cover for signatures beyond that or get the other signatures on the back?

I keep my covers in binder pages made to hold 5x7 photos (two spots per page, one cover per spot), so I'm able to see the back of all the covers by just turning the page, but the back is decidedly "less pretty," for lack of a better term.

There's also the possibility of squeezing in another signature on the front by having a signer flip the cover from landscape to portrait with the cachet on the bottom and sign the blank edge on the top, but I'm not sure how I'd feel about that either, as it'd kill the flow and may make the front feel a bit crowded.

Like I said, I know it'll ultimately come down to personal preference, but I'm curious about everyone's insights. Thanks!

Can you post a scan of the cover?

I don't have one of this particular signed cover (it's currently out and I haven't scanned it yet), but it's one of the flight specific KSC shuttle launch covers with the printed patch insignia cachet. Nothing too special and no more than a couple dollars on eBay.

My question is more general: is it better to have all the signatures on the front going to the same direction or fill all available space by turning it sideways and/or using the back?

Would generally go with all on one side, the front. Good luck.

It all depends whom is signing on the back or wherever. If that is all you have for the astronaut, etc., then I do not have a problem with it, better than a blank index card. I have done this in the past, happy I got them on something more noteworthy.

I'll rephrase: which do y'all prefer as signed cover collectors, one cover for everyone, including the back and awkward angles on the front, or multiple identical covers with a few signatures on the front?
