I am looking for advice on identifying a vintage John Glenn autograph. I am in the hunt for a signed Mercury era photograph or an index card.

It seems there are many examples out there but I can't distinguish a vintage autograph from the available examples. Also there appears many vintage photographs with very clear sharp signatures I assume to be more recent than the photo print.

Traders selling such items don't seem to comment on the era or the autograph offered for Glenn.Any advice or a link to a site would be welcome.

A pretty good indicator that a Glenn autograph is from the Mercury program is if he signed it with the "Jr.", or even the full "John H. Glenn, Jr." Or possibly even with "Mercury Astronaut" added.

As they signed more and more (and more) autographs, most of the astronauts developed faster, simpler versions of their signatures. Glenn's actually remained remarkably legible well into his 80s. But it was almost always "John Glenn" or "J.H. Glenn."

All times are CT (US)
