Has anyone ever tried to contact Jerry Linenger for an autograph and, if so, is he amenable to signing (his own book and pics) via mail?

I sent a request with no luck right after his book was released. I got a Xerox letter saying he doesn't have time to open, sign, and stuff books back in the mail and enjoy time with his family, so between the two, he chose his family. That isn't word for word, but that is the gist of it. Not a terrible thing, but I would have liked to have that book signed.

Thanks for the intel on Jerry Linenger. I planned on writing him a letter telling him I'd be home on leave in a town 8 miles from where he lives and asking if I could stop by. Maybe I'll just knock on his door.

I'm hoping my being in the Navy, as he was, will help with my request. I'll let you know what his reply is when I write him.

If he's okay with my stopping by maybe we can work something out via mail and I'll take your book with me. If he's not, maybe I'll mail him a copy of "Dragonfly" autographed by the author, who didn't write very favorably about him anyway.

Hope I'll be able to help you out with your quest to get "Off The Planet" signed.

Cheryl Cigan, owner of KNOWN Books in Suttons Bay, MI had signed copies of Linenger's book available at cover price.

I ordered "Off the Planet" from known.com and 8 days later received the book with a nice inscription from Jerry Linenger. There was no extra cost for the inscription or autograph.

It's a very interesting book to read about the U.S.-Russian Mir flights.

I'm picking up this old thread because Jerry Linenger will be speaking at UNC Chapel Hill next week and I'm going to be at the event. I'm wondering if any of you have seen him speak lately. If you have, did he sign any autographs after his speech? Thanks!
