I just watched some footage on NASA TV taken during the crew photo session. The interesting thing to note is that when they were sitting there looking over the test shots was they were discussing where on the photo they would be able to put their autographs. They seemed a little worried about the dark background, saying they might have to sign their arms.

Not an earth shattering event, but it shows they are thinking about where to sign their photos when they are having the photos made.

Aaaah - That's why it takes them this long to answer my autograph request. They are probably still contemplating.

But with the launch delay, they now have some spare time for less important things, like signing autographs ...

I'm curious if the quarantine of the crews before flight extends to receiving anything, including mail from outside sources. I'm willing to bet it is.

Received 2 STS-115 crew ISP's in the mail yesterday. Looks like the crew decided where to sign their names. All were done in black sharpie near the upper chest/neck areas. The inscription was done in the dark area with a silver sharpie. Will post a photo later today.

We wrote letters to each, so I'm not sure which astronaut these came from.
