Now that Jim Lovell has stopped signing his book through the mail my question is which astronauts still sign their books for free?

Ooooh! Thanks for posting this--I've been wondering this myself.
I've had experience myself with Gene Cernan and John Glenn, who both sign for free.
I've heard that Carpenter will, and that Schirra sometimes does, but don't know that personally.
I imagine the MGA astronauts that usually sign for a fee will sign their books for that fee (some, like Bean and Worden, even have a special rate for books).

From the Shuttle era, I think it basically comes down to those who sign at all and those that don't. Linenger has said he won't sign his books through the mail, though you can buy them signed.
I have books waiting to go in the mail to Joe Allen, Garn, Jemison, and Mullane. I'm still waiting for Sally Ride to return hers.

In the non-astronaut category, I've also had success with Gene Kranz.

Yes, i would also like to know which astro's sign their books through the mail. I plan on buying a couple of books shortly, probably Glenn, Schirra and Cernans.

Can anyone confirm what Wally Schirras signing habits/fee is for book through the mail?

Cheers
Neil

Only Glenn and Cernan (of the pre-Space Shuttle astronauts) invite people to send their books to them for a free autograph. Their addresses can be found here:

http://www.collectspace.com/resources/autographs_addresses.html

As the others mentioned in this thread have not invited autograph requests to be sent to any address that might or might not be listed elsewhere, it would be best to respect their wishes and wait for organized signings or the situation to change.

All times are CT (US)
