A recent unrelated web search turned up the Orland Park Public Library's (Illinois) NASA collection:
What do an astronaut's jumpsuit, aloe vera lotion, camcorder video camera, and thermal underwear have in common? They are all part of an amazing collection of more than 200 artifacts from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) that the library has been collecting since 2010.
According to a 2011 Orland Park Patch article, the collection is a result of a collaboration with the Adler Planetarium.
Although OPPL received artifacts, they didn't receive all that was applied for, which is where Michelle Nichols [master educator at the Adler Planetarium] stepped in. [OPPL outreach director Kelly] Cuci and Nichols are colleagues, and after discussing the different items that they had received, Nichols agreed to loan the library some of their space items: a liquid cooling suit and a space shuttle model (which the planetarium had previously possessed and was not a part of the NASA artifacts awarded to them).

"We weren't able to put it on display right away, but we still wanted people to see it," Nichols said of the cooling suit. "The library is right in our backyard, so it made sense to combine our resources."

All times are CT (US)
