Does anyone know if this is open to the public?

I am making a trip to Houston in a few weeks and have two solid days planned at Johnson Space Center. I know the Tram Tour goes by the Grove but am unsure if it stops, or if you can just take a walk through. Would like to pay my respects if possible.

Thanks!

I believe the tram pauses opposite the grove but it does not let passengers exit at that point.

I do not believe the grove is publicly accessible. The only area at Johnson that can visited by the public without a NASA visitor badge or going through Space Center Houston tours is the Rocket Park, which is separate from the memorial grove.

Robert is correct (big shocker, huh?), I was there in September and the tram stopped from the other side of the road there, you're probably a good 100 feet away when it does, you never get closer than that. Just be on the left side of the tram when you're on the tram on the return trip to be sure you get the best view of it.

Over the last few weeks, I have noticed that the trams are not currently taking the same route back to Rocket Park as they normally would at the end of the tour so unfortunately they are skipping the Memorial Grove stop.

However Brian, if you have the time to spare while you are here, I would be glad to escort you and your family here onsite and take you over to Memorial Grove if you'd like.

Thank you so much for your offer. I will take you up on that. It is just me traveling. May I email you to confirm details? Or alternatively, my email is listed on my collectSPACE profile if that is easier for you.

Thank you, thank you!
