Topic: Suggestions for space places during U.S. visit

I'm wondering if people have advice about museums, attractions or conventions to attend whilst I visit the US. I'm a military aviation/space nut. My free time will be from 10 - 24 March, 2012.I've already been to: - Kennedy Space Center/Astronaut Hall of Fame
- U.S. Space & Rocket Center
- Pensacola
- USS Alabama
- Fort Rucker
- Pima/AMARC
I'm going to visit DC for the National Air and Space Museum and Udver-Hazy, then drive to Dayton for the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force.I also need to visit friends in Albuquerque, so will be around that area. Any suggestions? |

Do the loop around White Sands (bound by I-25, SR-70, SR-54, SR-380) which will net you proximity to the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA), Spaceport America, Space Murals Museum, New Mexico Museum of Space History and Trinity Site. |

If you are going to Dayton, the Neil Armstrong Air and Space Museum is only a 45 min drive away in Wapakoneta Ohio. The Armstrong Museum is located just west of I-75 at exit 111 (Bellefontaine Street) in Wapakoneta. Also a couple hours south of DC is the Virgina Air and Space Center. Home of the Apollo 12 CM. If you get any where near Cleveland Ohio there is the Great Lakes Science Center and is now the new official site of the NASA Glenn Visitor Center (new home for the second Skylab crew's CM). The Great Lakes Science Center is located at 601 Erieside Avenue. |

If you're in New Mexico, then by all means visit Roswell. No, not to see the tacky UFO museum there, but to visit the Roswell Museum and Art Center and view the Robert H. Goddard galleries and a recreation of the workshop he used in the 1930s. They also have a planetarium. |

Since we're all pitching in to consume your time  ...A swing from Ohio area down to New Mexico could loop in Hutchison KS and Weatherford OK, for the Cosmosphere and Stafford Museum respectively. I enjoyed the latter recently and intend to make it to the former soon. |
