From time to time I check the external links on my web site, and when I was inspecting my page for BP-1207 in Ocala, FL I found that the boilerplate had been moved.I sent an email to the Discovery Science and Outdoor Center, inquiring whether they still had the boilerplate. As it turns out, they still have it and it just moved across town.
However, their Cultural Arts Coordinator said that they are currently seeking a new home for the boilerplate and that if I knew of a community or museum which would like to display it, I should put them in touch with the Center. The boilerplate is managed by the Smithsonian, which would coordinate the transfer.
If anyone knows of an "official entity of some sort" (as she replied to my generous offer to display it on my front lawn ) which is interested in displaying an Apollo boilerplate (photos at the link above), please contact discovery@ocalafl.org.
