From a reader: Johnson Space Center has planted two rose beds near its Saturn V building, named in the memory of Max Faget.

What a nice memorial. I wonder what roses went in, and what varieties, and if the roses are labeled (asking this as an avid amateur rosarian) for visitors.

You know, Max Faget deserves to have new rose named after him. Maybe a hardy, repeat flowering, climbing (suggesting spaceflight) rose. I'd plant one if it's hardy to zone 4!

This is a great idea. Now, can anyone make a cross that results in a blunt-bottomed shaped rose?

These are Faget roses. They're in the official rose directory, according to JSC.
