Launch ticket orders cannot be placed via email or by leaving a voice mail message. You must place your order online or by speaking to a reservation agent.

STS-125 is targeted to launch on October 8 at 1:34 a.m. EDT on the final space shuttle mission to service and upgrade the Hubble Space Telescope.

I think the tickets are going to get even harder to come by as the shuttle program gets closer to ending in 2010.

Here's a few suggestions:

• When they go on sale on-line, buy the more expensive 'Dine with...' LTT package. They sell out after the less expensive 'Admission/LTT' package.

• Write to your local representative. I did and was then able to see STS-115 launch from the VIP bleachers at the Apollo/Saturn V Center.

• Or get a KSC Annual Pass, as I do, and hope the phone fairies get you through before all the LTTs are gone!

It's alright, we couldn't really afford the passes anyway. This trip is going to be on a shoestring, due to changing job situations. Titusville will be cool, I'm sure, especially at night. I'll try writing my representative, but we'll see.

As far as I know, you are correct. I've been buying annual passes for about 9 years and have had to take my chances on getting a LTT along with everyone else. That put me in a position where many times due to time restrictions I just paid the extra money for the $70 or so 'Dine with...' package on-line, which cost me about an extra $55. But that made my chances of getting a LTT far better than hitting the redial button for, this time, over an hour. That's the record. I've always had to wait at least 20 minutes via phone ordering, but not ever longer than 30 until this past Monday.

I've spoken with and wrote Delaware North & KSCVC in the past about setting something up for annual pass holders more than a few times with no results.

I don't know if they ever did anything special like first dibs at the LTTs for pass holders before, but now they obviously don't even hold enough on the side to cover the number of pass holders.

Why wouldn't they have something set up? I don't understand it. They're losing a lot of revenue. Sports arenas, concert & theatre venues, NASCAR, even individual music acts give perks to those who spend extra money.

Well, a couple of points do come to mind here to the contrary. I don't think there is any limit on the number of annual passes sold, and therefore it will still be a first-come, first-serve basis for them obtaining causeway tickets.

A significant Hubble anomaly involving the storage and transmittal of science data to Earth occurred this weekend. Fixing the problem will result in delaying next month's Hubble servicing mission...

If that doesn't work, ask for the supervisor's name, etc. and then explain you've tried to accommodate them but have no other choice than to contact the supervisor's superior and the hotel chain home office.
