Before Space Center Houston opened visitors saw exhibits in Building 2 (the auditorium building) at Johnson Space Center. I once had an office in the back part and climbed the stairs past Faith 7 and Gemini V everyday to get to it. I'm embarrassed to say I do not have pictures of the exhibits and spacecraft there, most which made the trip over to the new Space Center Houston (the LLTV and McCall mural stayed behind). I would be grateful to anyone who can send me pictures from the old museum. Thanks!

I don't have any of the old museum, but the LLTV and the early configuration Space Shuttle drop test model are still hanging from the ceiling in building two (it is the Media Center now) and the McCall mural is still on the wall over the auditorium. It's bizzare seeing all these work cubicles sitting under the LLTV today. I made sure when I was down there last year to shoot some shots of both the LLTV and the shuttle model.

It is now the temporary home of Center Operations, while their new building is completed. Public Affairs moved back into Building 2 North (2N) across the way before STS-125.

I have received some pictures that show Bldg. 2 the way I remembered it, and have posted some of them to the Field Guide. If anyone has pictures of spacecraft in old locations (I remember seeing Apollo 7? at the Illinois State Fair being displayed on a special trailer) let me know!
