While on the way back from a week in Wales, my wife pointed out that there was a rocket in a farmer's field.

The traffic was pretty heavy on the road so I only got a quick look, but what I saw was amazing. Carved out of stacked up round bundles of hay was a rocket shaped like a V2 about 10 to 15 feet tall.

How it was done, I don't know (it was impressive). It's a shame the traffic was bad (I couldn't get to stop the car) and my camera was in the boot locked up.

Where the rocket is at is along the A51 near Nantwich before you get to the A500 Stoke Rd.

I thought I'd share this with fellow cS'ers as it made my day coming home.

There's a farm with an ice cream factory just where you're describing, who frequently have hay-bale sculptures in a large field visible from the road. I'm guessing that's what you saw — but why a rocket? No idea I'm afraid.

There was writing on the bails of hay, but I only got a glimpse of it so I couldn't get to read it.

Cool. My 7 year old should pass it in about 30 minutes on his way to Chester from Crewe with Grandpa!

All times are CT (US)
