John Young steps from the Astrovan at Pad 19 on March 18, 1965, to participate in a dress rehearsal of the Gemini 3 launch, together with Gus Grissom. Young is followed by suit tech Joe Schmitt, while Steve Tatham of Kennedy Space Center Security holds the door of the van open. |

He doesn't look like a rookie. Who would know that he would go on to be one of NASA's most experienced astronauts. Great photo Ed!!!! |

Good point but I think that's due to Ed's color correction skills rather than the original photo. |
