This past week's events reminded me of how it all began 35 years ago, when the first shuttle orbiter Enterprise was towed from Palmdale to Edwards AFB. I remember the excitement and anticipation that I felt when I saw the first photos in the newspapers and in magazines like Aviation Week, Time and Newsweek.

A great picture of a "bygone era". I, for one, found Endeavour's parade through LA...heartbreaking...

Ah, Enterprise. Hopefully she can overcome her current condition at the Intrepid museum in NY in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
