After simulating their moonwalk at the Manned Spacecraft Center in Houston on April 22, 1969, Apollo-11 astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin brief NASA managers, including George Mueller, Sam Phillips and George Low.

Now that’s not a picture you see every day. In fact, I’ve never seen it.

Looks like many people are sitting on the edge of their seats. Perhaps this is in sympathy for Armstrong and Aldrin who can barely fit into their own standard issue government chairs!

This picture appears on page 65 of David Harland's book "The First Men on the Moon: The Story of Apollo 11".

Congratulations Ed on your 130th photo on this thread. I have noted before that many of them would make great posters. I often download the photos to my computer and I am then able to zoom into the photo to see more details.

Could Buzz be giving Neil a less friendly stare?

Cheers,
Matt

That's a microphone someone's got stuck next to Neil's mouth--I wonder if this debriefing was recorded? And, perhaps, more to the point, did NASA keep the tapes?

Footage of this debriefing is also on Spacecraft Film's Apollo 11 DVD (silent, though). I believe von Braun was also present.
