I am a big fan of the robotic exploration of the solar system, and of course Steve Squyres is Principal Investigator for the MER mission.

I understand that Squyres was once an astronaut applicant. I am intrigued that he is now participating in an asteroid human exploration mission analogue with shuttle astronauts and other scientists.

Fascinating!
