In his book "Moon Lander," Tom Kelly stated that in February 1967, he was removed as lunar module engineering manager and put in charge of the manufacturing and test operations at Plant 5 — the final assembly hangar for the lunar modules.

Kelly was shocked about the change, but I look at it as almost a promotion. George Titterton saw a problem and assigned someone he thought could fix it.

Any folks with insight or personal experience have any thoughts?
