Today (Sept. 17) we celebrate the birthdays of Tom Stafford (1930) Edgar Mitchell (1930) and Pam Melroy (1961).Interesting to note that Tom Stafford was announced as a member of Group 2 on his 32nd birthday. |

Today is (again) an astronaut birthday tri-fecta. Tom Stafford in 1930 Edgar Mitchell in 1930 Pam Melroy in 1961 Though I only fly in space in my dreams and in my artwork I share the date with these fine folks - me in 1956. Maybe some day we'll all go out to dinner together. |

Many happy returns to General Tom Stafford and Dr Ed Mitchell, who I hope to meet both again at Autographica next week, on their 80th birthdays. Also Col Pam Melroy.My wife's birthday as well. |

There was a birthday gala at the Stafford Air and Space Museum last evening. I hope some members of cS attended and will share photos. |

Tim (KSCartist) requested some photos from the Stafford party this weekend.In attendance were, Armstrong, Cernan, Lovell, Engle, Cunningham, Haise, Lousma, Bean and obviously the General himself... Happy 83rd birthday to General Thomas P. Stafford! Today at the Stafford Air and Space Museum we are celebrating his birthday with free admission all day! We have free birthday treats to all visitors and you can even sign a birthday card to be sent to the General! Come see us! |
