Gotta be something lost in the translation. From IBN Live, "Haryana govt to reward boy selected for NASA astronaut programme": For the Astronaut Training Programme, NASA had selected only 10 candidates across the world. Three of them, including Ashish (Kumar), are from India. The three-year training programme will be conducted in Washington at the NASA premises. |

Apparently, not a translation issue as so much a common hoax out of India. There are stories annually about Indian children being selected to study at NASA, none of them true... |

Very common, indeed!My favourite one that I have read said something along the lines of "Sunita Williams talks to all of India about her conversion to Islam and her recent travel to the moon." Neither of those facts are true, but those claims sprout up quite often! | |
