This is an audio recording of Neil A. Armstrong being interviewed by Dr. Stephen E. Ambrose & Dr. Douglas Brinkley. Conducted in Houston, Texas on 19 September 2001.This is primarily an audio presentation, I have added a few images to the video to give you something to look at while listening. The written version is available here. |

Yes, I do have them, two files around 70MB each. I was going to upload somewhere but the free sites I found (SoundCloud, etc) are limited to duration or file size, any suggestions?

If you've read the transcript, you'll see that the majority of the interview was conducted by Brinkley, not Ambrose. Ambrose was already suffering from the lung cancer that killed him not long after and he seemed not quite up to par that day. Armstrong was his usual thoughtful self. |

Does anyone know how many hours Neil logged as a sailplane (glider) pilot? |

Thank you so much.Where did you get that from? I spent like forever trying to find audio files of JSC Oral histories. Apart from those on C-SPAN of course. |

Yes thank you these are great. Neil is his usual circumspect self, but does show some excitement describing Gemini VIII. He also speaks of the large responsibility of a back up crew and his satisfaction with any assignment he was given. He was thrilled to be involved at all. These comments from part 1. |

A colleague of mine downloaded them some years ago (I believe an old JSC web site), in 26 ~14MB individual files. I stitched them together into two contiguous files. |
