As I understand Captain Young has given countless talks and presentations in his career, especially in his last 10-15 years with NASA, but I can only find two of them on YouTube. Are there any other ones or films about/with him on other sources than YouTube?

All I found was a short speech to a military community on iTunesU.

I remember seeing recording gear at his talk at the National Museum of Scotland when he was there in 2001. Never seen or heard any recording of it so maybe it was for their archives. Might be worth a try?

Novaspace's Kim Poor has some video footage of John Young taken from one of his signings. It is on Novaspace's Astronaut Central's Signings page and contains answers to submitted questions.

Not a speech, but still interesting.

Thanks for editing the title. I'm not a native speaker, so my writing might seem strange at times.

I have video which I shot of all of Capt. Young's annual presentations at the Johnson Space Center Open House between 1996 and 2001. This video is in standard-definition analog 8mm format. I also have video of his presentation at the 2008 U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame Induction at the Kennedy Space Center. This video was shot in digital high-def AVCHD format. I've been meaning to convert the older analog recordings to digital and upload them to Youtube or some other video sharing site, but never seem to find the time to do so. If enough cS members are interested in seeing the videos, I might try to get the project done before too much longer.

There is a John Young speach in iTunes U called: Academy of Achievement, where John Yonug addresses the student delegates at the 1993 Achivement Summit in Glacier National Park about space explortation. Its audio only and the Duration is 13 min.

Tony, that would be awesome.

I've seen him in September '04 (although his book states it was '05) in Cologne, Germany at the "Day of the astronauts" where he spoke to 10000 people. That was a superb event, but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any footage.

There is a talk by John Young as a bonus item on the Bluray (and I assume also the DVD version) of the film "The Wonder of it All." From memory, it's quite long and he addresses many of the issues he spoke about in Scotland in 2001.

A talk on the bonus features of a DVD? Or was it an interview? In any ways they should publish the raw materials of all those interviews.

Unfortunately the DVD does not seem to be available in Germany/Europe and the shipping costs from the US are humongous if you want to have it within the next couple of days.

It was John Young giving a talk to an audience. I can't say I have any complaints about postage charges from the USA to the UK by Paypal, although I never ask for the fastest method. Use the slower method: as the days go by, the enthusiasm mounts...

Thrust, I've located the tapes for the 1999, 2000 and 2001 JSC Open House events. I'll have to search through a few more boxes to locate the ones from '96, '97 and '98. Fortunately, they are all properly labeled, but just not very well organized. I also fired up my old Sony 8mm HandyCam to test it since I have not used it in nearly 10 years, and was surprised to find it still appears to work perfectly! I'll try to get started converting these analog videos to digital format while I search for the remaining tapes. In case anyone is interested, in addition to the John Young presentations, these JSC Open House videos also contain presentations by various other astronauts and shuttle crews on their missions during that year, as well as videos of Max-Q, the astronaut band performing at the Open House events.

I have a copy of a video shot by a friend at the National Museum of Scotland in the late 90s. I have this transferred to DVD. John Young came to the Edinburgh Science Festival. I have seen his talk twice, it was very good. He would not give his autograph as he was still working for NASA at that time. Need to look it out.
