I was going through some old photos and I ran across these that I’m hoping someone can help me identify the people that are in them.

The first photo I took on July 19, 1979, while at Mission Control in Houston. I know the gentleman in the middle is Gene Kranz, but who are the other two men?

The next set of photos of Max-Q, were taken on August 28, 1999 while visiting during one of the Johnson Space Center’s open houses. I know it’s Susan Helms on keyboard and I think it is Jim Wetherbee on drums. Who are the rest of them?

I know you cS'ers can help me out and your help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

One of the guitars is Dan Burbank. I think that's Carl Walz standing with what looks like a tambourine. The woman in black and white (I presume the singer) looks like it could be either Lisa Nowak or Tracy Caldwell.

Hoot Gibson on guitar at far left? Certain that's Burbank and Caldwell up front.

The blonde guitar player on the left might be Pinky Nelson.

The band photos are a combination of Max Q and the Rockit Scientists. The Rockit Scientists band is made up of astronaut trainers and possibly flight controllers. The fella on the far right is a rendezvous instructor that I know is in the Rockit Scientists. Assuming the fella on the far left is with the same band.

Either both groups were playing separately at this event and they decided to combine forces later on for some good music or some of the Rockit Scientists were filling in for Max Q members that were out of town.

It's Burbank, Caldwell, Walz, and I think its Julie Payette behind Caldwell and also I think its James Wetherebee on the drums because he's a drummer on MaxQ before so that my guess...

Thanks to everyone that responded here to my request for identifying these people. It does seem the jury is still out on two of them, but at least I’m further ahead then what I was. Thanks again everybody.

In the first photo I may be crazy but the guy on the left may be Hank Hartsfield.

Having attended all the JSC Open House Events between 1996 and 2001 and having taken plenty of photos and video, I remember this particular performance quite well since it was probably the only one where I did not recognize all of the band members. I agree that the two guitar players on either end were not regular Max Q members. The regular members (Left to Right) were Dan Burbank on guitar, Carl Walz, Jim Wetherbee on drums, Tracy Caldwell and Susan Helms on keyboard. Quite a talented group!

In the first two shots, the guitar player on the left next to Dan Burbank looks like Mark Lee to me. Could be wrong.

Jim Wetherbee on drums. Alan Fox (non-astro rendezvous instructors) on bass. Not sure who's on the black Les Paul - might be Bill Todd a simulation supervisor (sim supe, for short).

Need higher res to be sure
