I was wondering if NASA sometimes invites the Apollo astronauts and moonwalkers (the few that are still with us) to share their experiences with the current astronauts and astronauts candidates. I can imagine they bring a lot of experience to the table for the Artemis program and future moonwalks. I noticed on her Instagram that astronaut Zena Cardman is very involved in testing out future moonwalk procedures and equipment. So I reached out to her to ask if they sometimes get help from the old Apollo guys. Immediately I got the following wonderful response from her: Yes! It's a huge privilege to speak with them. We've learned so much from their experience.Though my favorite conversation ever had nothing to do with the moon. I once got to chat about writing with Michael Collins. He could recite from memory huge passages of Paradise Lost. Amazing! | |
