From the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: quote: People meeting John Bair for the first time probably never suspected he had helped launch America's manned space program.Friends and family describe Dr. Bair as humble, friendly, witty. But he was also part of a team of psychologists who, in the 1950s, evaluated a pool of 110 candidates from which the Mercury Seven astronauts were chosen in 1959.
