I am saddened to learn of the passing of my father's cousin, Carl J. Seiberich, on March 24, 2006 at the age of 84. The last time I spoke with Carl was 3 years ago when my sister died. I even remember the first time I met Carl; it was Christmas 1957, (I was eight years old), when my family picked him up at the Burbank airport. When my father passed away in 1985, I found a box of letters, cards, and pictures that Carl had send him over the years,(since his WWII days), along with a collection of USS Hornet/Apollo 11 and 12 treasures. It was Carl's influence that persuaded me to join the Navy in 1966. Another chapter of my life comes to an end.

For those who might not be able to determine from the context, Rear Admiral Carl J. Seiberlich was Commander of the USS Hornet, which picked up both Apollo 11 and Apollo 12 in 1969.

To All,

This is Carl Weimer; I am RADM Seiberlich's Grandson (and namesake). Thank you all for you kind letters and emails through this difficult time. Instead of accepting flowers or donations to our family directly, I would like to direct you to the USS Hornet museum to make these contributions.

Thanks again to you all for your ongoing support.
