I'm specifically talking about the Apollo program. Besides the astronauts, who else was authorized to wear mission patches? Thanks, Joel

I'm not sure I understand the question, as it implies there were people who were not allowed to wear mission patches. While NASA did clamp down on the commercialization of the insignia, within the agency, I am unaware of any effort to preclude anyone from showing pride in their mission by displaying the emblem. To support this, there are photographs showing flight controllers, pad technicians, contractors' engineers and others wearing mission patches throughout the Apollo program. |

Thanks Robert, I think you answered my question. I had been wondering if everyone from the janitors who cleaned up during the, say Apollo 11 mission, to the engineers could wear the mission patch. In other words, could every NASA employee involved with a mission wear a mission patch? | |
