Many thanks for Larry McGlynn's article on Cece Bibby, Breaking through the glass gantry. The story was very well done. I even grabbed my wife, sat her down and asked her to read it.I had the honor to share some time with her in Burbank last year. Those were the moments I treasure the most from that weekend. We all look forward to seeing her again this Saturday and Sunday at the show and I recommend that everyone stop by to say hello to her. |

Doug, thank you for the kind words about the article.I agree with you, Cece is a delight. I, too, urge anybody to drop by Cece's chair and say hello. |

Larry- I could tell your style a mile a way. Great article. She is a doll. I enjoyed the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation dinner -sitting next to her and hearing some good stories plus she likes to pick on you. That makes he #1 in my book... |

I enjoyed the part about when she first met Guenter... what I'd give to have been a fly on the wall when she entered his white room. |

I also greatly enjoyed your article, Larry. Like Doug, I had the opportunity to spend a bit of time with Cece in Burbank (Dee O'Hara introduced me to her. I believe it was the first time the two friends had seen each other in some time. It was a wonderful event to witness.) Cece was not only a kick and a half to talk with, she remembered me by first name for the rest of the weekend. What an ego trip for me! Like Dee, she was a very kind and modest person.I agree with the recommendation to those attending the upcoming show to spend some time talking with these ladies. (Buy some autographs, too.) If you watch the interactions that they have with the astronauts, you'll be left with no doubt about the respect and affection that they have earned. Doug, that was the best part of my experience at Burbank, too. |
