Reach for your dream with this on your wrist...
quote:
A native of Spokane, Wash., Astronaut Michael Anderson gave his life doing what he dreamed of since he was a small boy – exploring space. He perished along with six other heroes in the Columbia shuttle tragedy on Feb. 1, 2003. Michael deeply valued his family, his faith and education for all, and he exemplified this in the way he lived everyday.

His dream was for children to know and value family, to participate fully in their education – particularly in science and math – and to persevere to achieve their goals.

Together we can keep Michael Anderson’s dreams alive by funding a bronze statue as a permanent memorial to him and his life. Please make a gift today. Thank you.

Limited edition wristbands with the word "DREAM" are available for $2 and can be ordered here.

I had the chance to meet Michael when he was a guest on the "Young Astronauts" program I worked on in Spokane.

He was in training for his first mission at the time, very excited, and seemed to be a little surprised that we all flocked into the studio to meet him. Very kind, soft spoken, a true hero.

Didn't get a pic or autograph, I thought that would be tacky. I'm still glad I didn't - just knowing I got to shake his hand is enough.
