I'm excited by the change in venue. On the downside I don't know of any great hotels near the Space Center, although perhaps that has changed. More importantly, being in Houston may bring out more astronauts. Does anyone know how many astronauts live in the Houston area? Bean and Cunningham live there, but I suspect there are a lot of shuttle astronauts still in the area. Perhaps a good perk for top ticket holders would be a visit to Bean's art studio (I know, wishful thinking). Maybe a tour of Mercury, Gemini and Apollo-era homes? |

Have I missed something? Is this event still going ahead? Everything seems to have gone very quiet. |

The Astronaut Hall of Fame induction ceremony was nine days ago. The Apollo Celebration Gala is coming up July 21st. The Innovators Gala is Aug 25th. And there are only so many folks in the ASF front office... So, things have not gone quiet, there are just a lot of ASF events coming up. |

I contacted ASF several weeks ago to see when they would be uploading a list of astronaut attendees to the show (trying to figure out whether to go to Spacefest or ASF). They said that they'd be posting a list of attendees sometime in April. |

All very fair points. I only asked because the topic had actually disappeared from "Autograph Shows and Signings" (I had to trace it to make my post) and there is no entry on "Sightings." Of course, it couldn't be added to "Sightings" until there are confirmed guests. |

I can't make it, but astronauts aside, that area is still filled with the Mission Control guys.I know it's not what the "A" in "ASF" stands for, but they've had some of the mission and launch control guys at past events. What are the chances of them getting the likes of Kranz (I know he can't write too much in short stretches, as it does a number on his hand, but since they instituted a $10 charge for photos, assuming they're continuing that, even just being there can get some good money), Kraft, and the various console guys that you only really see at events for the "Mission Control" book/movie? I know that every year is some attendee's first show (I still haven't gone) and their first opportunity to meet the various guests, but the change in venue presents the opportunity to bring in people that don't do these types of things that often. |

Unfortunately I see they've delayed their announcement of what's going on. Sometime in June now, maybe. |

I had an idea to involve the (very) unsung heroes of the Apollo MER and pitched it to the ASF and I believe that there will be something a bit special for all the folks who are attending...,,! |

Guest announcements are still coming, but the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation has announced a few more details about this year's Space Rendezvous. The event venues will be the Hilton NASA Clear Lake (also the event hotel), the Lone Star Flight Museum at Ellington Airport and Space Center Houston. Tickets are now on sale. The event will include a celebration of the Apollo 7 and Apollo 8 50th anniversaries. |

The first astronauts attending are now on the website. Scott Altman and Curtis Brown. I really hope they get a good number of astronauts to come to the autograph show that have not attended their previous shows. If they do I'll be going for sure. |

Does Dave Scott usually appear at these? I am trying to decide whether to wait for an in-person autograph or buy one from a dealer. |

It's been some years now since Dave has attended this event. Would love to see him again but not holding my breath. But I have no inside info so you never know. |

Since this is being described as an Apollo 7 and Apollo 8 50th anniversary event, should we not expect to see Cunningham and or any of the Apollo 8 crew? |

I think Dave Scott attended the ASF's autograph and memorabilia show in Nov. 2016 at KSC. |

Ken, You are correct. He participated in the Hall of Fame events but I can't remember if he did the autograph show. I have photos of him at the Hall of Fame event, but can't find any of him at the autograph show; it's possible I just didn't take any photos of him at the autograph event. |

He also did the 2012 show. Maybe others, but I can confirm 100% that he was there for that show because he signed something for me. |

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe Jeffrey Hoffman or Ellen Ochoa have ever attended an ASF show. So they would be new names. But unlike the previous version of the ASF's website this new one is not saying if the astronauts are attending events only or events and the autograph show. I hope they specify that in the near future. |

Missed Ochoa; but Hoffman has attended an ASF event (although he didn't sign and his time with us guests was limited). |

I don't think active NASA employees are allowed to profit from autograph sales and such. Since Ochoa has retired (I think) perhaps she can do so now. I hope we get more of the women astronauts here. |

I forgot Hoffman attended an event only at one of the ASF shows. I only go for the autograph show. Loren Shriver has been added. Keep those Shuttle Astronauts coming ASF! |

We are now at 23 astronauts for the autograph show! Personally I'm still waiting for Al Worden to make it official, but I am so excited to attend this!I have an Apollo 16 canvas panorama and a couple models to get signed. Anyone else have anything unusual or uncommon they are getting autographed? I could use some ideas. |

Price of the autograph show — see below. Not sure what it costs to get into the Lone Star Flight Museum, but I'm sure it is well worth the price. Hope to meet you there. All Ticketholders, Lone Star Flight Museum, Note: For those interested in only attending the Autograph Show, admission to this event is included with daily admission to the Lone Star Flight Museum. This can be purchased directly from their website. |

I recently purchased this beautiful John Young piece from a cS member and was wondering if anyone going to the show this year wouldn't mind helping me obtain Duke on it. As you can see, the piece really is one of a kind and I would like him to add his own personal quote as well, although I am drawing a few blanks on what a good one might be. My thoughts are to get his signature on the left hand side of Young's, then have his quote under Young's quote. Any other ideas out there? |
