We're very excited to have Astronaut and Test Pilot Joe Engle, of X-15, Apollo, and Space Shuttle, coming to Tucson in mid-November for a private signing with Astronaut Central. Deadline for receipt of orders and items at Novaspace is Friday, November 2. |

Will Astronaut Central have any pre-printed X-15 or Joe Engle prints available for Joe Engle to sign, or is it only mailed in photos that can be signed? |

We're happy to announce that our webpage of unsigned photos, prints, and books for the Joe Engle signing is now online. We apologize for the delay, and we appreciate your patience. |

It's a real shame there's no good pictures of Engle with an X-15 in the configuration that he actually flew. I had the same problem trying to find something last year. The portraits are all of the A-2 post-rebuild, which he never flew. The in-flights all have the lower ventral on, and he never flew it in that configuration. I'm always amazed how few X-15 pictures seem to have been taken after the initial excitement at the start of flight tests. |

Yes, we did have trouble finding good photos of the X-15 in flight, especially from Engle's flights, or at least his configurations. We had limited time, resources, and sources, so if anyone has more appropriate photos, please let me know, and I'll see if I can add them to our webpage. We are at least offering an inflight photo ("X-15 In Flight B") and Mark Pestana's art print ("X-15 Into Space") portraying tail-number 66672 (a/c #3), which is one of the two aircraft that Engle flew, although David C points out it's not configured quite the same. Indeed, all of the portraits and "X-15 In Flight A" show tail-number 66671 (a/c #2 or #2A), which Engle never flew in any configuration. I don't know which ship is shown in our "X-15 Drop" photo. |

I would appreciate it if anyone who had an item signed by Mr. Engle at the show would contact me via email. Thank you! |

Does anyone have the looking backwards picture of his X-15 up-side-down when he performed a roll maneuver? |

No, but although the quality is awful, the roll starts at about 10:54 in this video. |
