Are the astronaut guests listed confirmed for the show or just listed because they were there last year? |

The good news is that the room rate at the J.W. Marriott Starr Pass Resort is only $109 per night if you ask for the Spacefest 2017 rate. This is a bargain for a world-class hotel like this. |

While I've been a part of the organising committee in the past (sadly, I can't make it to next year's Spacefest) I have to agree — this is superb, first-rate accommodation at near Travelodge prices. Get in quick, folks — these cut-price rooms and rates won't last too long. |

Colin's touch is still there. While I personally will seriously miss him we could not proceed without his behind the scenes help. Colin, you Squire, are a rock star. |

That is fantastic! At the U.S. Space Walk of Fame (now American Space Museum) auction a few weeks ago, I got something signed by an astronaut from each Apollo mission except two, including Apollo 11. Now I can get it signed by someone from the other one first, then Collins! |

I wonder if this means Collins won't do a send-in signing in March/April. |

Yes, a huge shout out to Sally Poor — once again — for persuading Mike Collins to attend. He was so much fun last year! |

This is huge, Engle does not and has not ever done a show. He is a very hard autograph to obtain and his panel talk will be impressive. |

Based upon past schedules, is it worth arriving on Wednesday night and spending all day Thursday at Spacefest? It is a little unclear to me if there will be much of anything happening on that day. |

Michael, there is always something happening at Spacefest! If there isn't a scheduled activity before the event starts, take a drive over to the Pima Air and Space Museum. It is an awesome museum and they also give tours of the "Boneyard"! There is also the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. Get there early in the morning when it opens. Also, one of my favorite places to visit is Tombstone, Arizona. Lots to see there including the OK Corral and the legendary Boot Hill Cemetery. Plus there are a lot of things to see and do in Tucson. Make the most of your time out there. Connect with others attending who might want to go on an excursion with you. Enjoy for Spacefest is what you make it to be! |

I am considering going to Spacefest this year for my first time. It will be Joe Engle's first time as well, I hear. Does anyone have any idea how much his autograph will cost? |

Since it's his first autograph show, I daresay that in the absence of data we can't estimate what his fee will be.I am happy he will be there. I attended a talk by him at the National Air and Space Museum back in 2007 or so that was great, and soon after got a couple of things I've been hoping for nine years he could sign. I found his home address and thought about sending them with a nice polite request and an even nicer check, but decided to respect his privacy. So yes, very happy he will be there. |

Good thing you didn't. He doesn't sign by mail. (At least, not at the time you met him.) Years before that, my letter of request was answered by him stating to send it to another address, which I did and never got back either. |

I sent a request a couple years ago and he told me he doesn't sign because of eBay sales — then suggested I buy one on there, lol. I declined, so I am looking forward to getting an X-15 model and maybe a picture autographed this summer. |

I've been working with Joe Henry's lovely wife about this. We have discussed some potential fees but she has not shared with me what they'll be as of yet. I do think we can safely assume it'll be much less than Buzz's fee. We hope to be ironing out the fee schedule for everyone fairly soon and I'll make an announcement when we have them. |

I sat with Joe at the ASF's Space Rendezvous in November; what an unbelievable guy! I'd pay Buzz fees if necessary! Hopefully they will be less than Buzz. |

I'm hopeful that there will be people again this year willing to get things signed for us unfortunate souls that won't be attending. I'd love to get something signed by Joe Engle if I can afford it. |

I'll be happy to get items signed this year for a small fee. I am flying however, so I will have to limit the items to a smaller size. Anyone that needs help just email me. — Sean |

A couple of questions in view of General Engle's scheduled appearance.Does anyone know a good source of high resolution color X-15 photos? Searching on line seems to produce only the same half a dozen well used images. Secondly, what day will the X-15 panel talk be? |

David, a couple of years ago I spent days finding the best, highest-resolution images of X-15s. If you tell me what you haven't found, I can tell you what I have saved. Just send me an e-mail. |
