The schedule on the show's website includes the name of the first guest to be announced, Skylab astronaut Ed Gibson. |

I could not attend last year given the abrupt date change. Three weeks ago there was a more subtle change at the ASF website ('Save the Date' went from November 3-5 to Nov 2-4). Can we presume the posted dates are now final? |

Does any airline fly direct from any UK airport to Orlando in November? I have found only indirect flights. The same applies to Dublin. |

Thanks very much! I must have checked the days with indirect flights only. It's a little unlikely that I'll be going, but if I take the plunge, that seems to be the best route. |

Not sure why, but they have last year's guests listed under autograph show details. |

Is there any particular reason why the top ("Supernova") ticket can only be purchased by U.S. citizens? |

In the past to top tier tickets often visit facilities on the Air Force side of Cape Canaveral, which non-US citizens cannot visit. |

Seems they have a list up of 2017 participants. Are they really the list, or was the webpage changed from 2016 to 2017? |

Definitely a new list. Both Schweickart and Chilton weren't there last year.My guess is that Buzz will attend dinners etc, but not the autograph show. |

Rather arbitrary, but perhaps understandable in today's political climate. However, is this a recent policy? In 1975 I was on a tour organized by the British Interplanetary Society which included a tour of the U.S. Air Force Titan launch complex, including the boosters which launched the Viking missions the following month. We also toured Patrick Air Force Base. |

Post Sept. 11, 2001, all federal properties adopted new regulations with regards to foreign individual (non-citizen) access. Further, depending on the Force Protection Condition, military installations may suspend all public access, as was done between May 2015 and February 2016 (all tours of Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, regardless of citizenship, were canceled during that time due to heightened security concerns). |

Too bad, as I finally decided to bite the bullet this year and add him to a photo showing him, Leonov and Slayton and only missing Stafford. He canceled out of one show this year and now this. I think I may have waited too long (I've had the photo since 1990 - one of my first space autographs was Slayton on that picture.) Ah, well. Well, I have all the shuttle astronauts, maybe the only thing I need is a photo of Chili to replace the one I lost. |

No one will be sure who's actually going to he there til about a month before the show so don't write it off yet. Last year they added Dave Scott 9 days before the show. |

No one will be sure who'll be there until they're actually there. For good reasons there have been a few last minute cancellations over the years. If you're just going for one guy or gal, good luck. There's also been last minute additions. |

Buzz is now off the list as well as Gen. Stafford (he cancelled last minute a few years back). My take is never go for a single individual but rather for the immersion in astronauts, space enthusiasts, and panel discussions/special programs that you won't see anywhere other than SpaceFest — with age, family issues and vagaries of life there'll always be cancellations. Of course, I'll always hope for last-minute additions! |

We all have our own reasons for going and those reasons vary considerably person to person. Of course there will be cancellations, that is just part of life, but if you're going to meet astronauts you have never met before and they both cancel, there isn't enough justification in my eyes to go to such a large expense of travelling from the UK. It is a matter of opinion, so you can't say that everyone should just go to be immersed by astronauts, etc. because that isn't why some people attend. |

I did state that was just my opinion. Since it'll be another 3 months you may be able to find travel insurance that would specifically cover reimbursement of your travel and ticket for cancellations of a particular astronaut. |

Travel insurance is a wise idea, but as the case is I think I will attend Spacefest instead. In my experience they're less prone to changes. Ah, to live in the US - it would make life so much easier. |

Gosh, not one moonwalker confirmed yet. I am so thankful that I was able to attend several events (Sims & Hankow, Spacefest and ASF shows) when one from each mission was in attendance."Don't know what you've got 'til it's gone." |

It is difficult to lock-in on this event without more details on the line-up. All in all it seems more expensive than Spacefest and the advance information seems much more limited. I note though that SpaceX is now discussing the 1st launch of Falcon Heavy for November. If the two events happen to overlap, it would definitely be worth the trip |

Get there, guys. The guest list will only continue to shrink with each passing show. Don't forget, this event is an opportunity to support a worthy charity near and dear to all of us here, and also a chance to scope out the new Hall of Fame for those who haven't gone yet. |

Age, and, more specifically, health problems, mean I have probably made my last visit to the USA. I always took the view that if there were more, or at least as many, astronauts that I hadn't met, then I would always try to attend a show (finances permitting). If there were only a few that I'd not met, then it was a case of cost versus benefit.Having said that, as Helen Sharman once said "Seize the Moment." |

I think at Spacefest last year he was charging around $95. I think completions were around $50 extra. |

I've committed to attending this again, but am hoping for more guests to be added to the autograph show. In year's past I could at least count on Lovell or Stafford. Glad they got Schweikart but that will not pack people into the show. Besides Schweikart, Kevin Chilton is the only out of the ordinary guest. It'd be great if they could get some non-autograph guests like Crippen or Aldrin to do photos at the show in exchange for donations. I attend every year but never attend the reception due to the already heavy financial cost. |

Scott Altman is a new face this year also. I know I have seen Nicole Stott at Spacefests, but I believe this is her first time at an ASF Space Rendezvous. ASF will add more but we are moving in to an era of almost only shuttle astronauts attending. Maybe in the future the ASF can start bringing in foreign astronauts and cosmonauts. Maybe even some space flight participants and private astronauts! |

I've attended every one of the ASF November shows, and they have all been fantastic. Yes the list of special guests continues to go down, but bringing in more shuttle astronauts gets me excited. How about some payload specialists?Last year's event was great. I expect that in the end the 2017 show will be equally as memorable. I already have my ticket. |

I know he wasn't a guest at AAMS/Space Rendezvous, but wasn't there a year where the show was held and the Astronaut Encounter was Marcos Pontes? |
