This is not my video, but I just stumbled upon this footage on YouTube of the 2004 UACC show in Burbank. I thought those of you in attendance might get a kick out of watching it because it brought back some fond memories for me. I only took photos at that show, no video, so it was neat to watch this.

Thanks for posting, I think this was the best of all the shows I went to. Not sure why, but I have some great memories of it.

I must agree. Great show and with astronauts sadly we will not be able to meet again like Schirra and Cooper.

Burns, I agree. Each show has its own distinct memories for me, but I do have some great stand-out memories of that Burbank show.
Robert, thanks for posting that video. I was able to spot myself in it. Out of curiosity, is there anywhere on cs.com that has a list of the autograph shows that have occurred over the years as well as the rosters of the guests at those shows?

I remember that as my first (and only so far) overseas show, it was great to meet many astronauts for the first time, such as Gordo, Wally, Gene Cernan, Tom Stafford and Rusty S.
I also got moved from my assigned table at the dinner with Jack Lousma, to end up sitting at Wally Schirra's table. I seem to remember Wally telling us about his new Jaguar sports car and (I think it was) Larry McGlynn asking Wally what the top speed of the car was, and Wally replying 160 mph, at which point someone said "how fast have you driven it?". Quick as a flash Wally replied "I just told you, 160 mph!" LOL.
One of these days I'm gonna go to a dinner in the UK and get to sit with Jack Lousma!

I, too have fond memories. Novaspace brought Gene Cernan and Bruce McCandless for their first show, I believe it was the first for Rusty, and Tom Stafford also. Met a lot of collectors who were just voices on the phone before. Good accomodations, good crowd, good show.
My only regret was that I didn't get around much. Too busy!

That Burbank show was one of the best shows. It was an eclectic and broad mix of guests. Such a wide mix of astros and support staff including the Russians. At one point I saw Vance Brand hanging out with Tom Stafford and the Russians. Like the other shows it was real HOT, about 105F is what I recall, but a dry heat. So it was real nice.

Now thats something I had completely fogotten about Doug, Vance Brand being there that weekend, although he wasn't "working" so I didn't want to bother him. Im glad I finally got the chance to get his autograph in person all these years later.
One thing has come to mind about that weekend was the noise coming from the bar when I arrived at the hotel. I put my bags in my room as fast as I could and went down to the bar to find many of the astros/guests in deep and LOUD conversation, and Wally telling a story about Gordo and Al Worden hiding in his bath, while they setup a gotcha for him a few weeks earlier (I think)

It was a great show. If I recall Gordon Cooper died just 3 or 4 weeks later.

Yep, that's right. It was my first overseas show and it was great. Being sat next to Gordo for dinner was the icing on the cake.

As you can imagine I remember that event fondly. I was probably in that video somewhere, but under a table sweating that it came off successfully. I still get feedback regularly from clients of Farthest Reaches and fans of the Sims/Hankow events sharing stories and memories, often citing Burbank as their favorite.

That show was magic. It was my first experience with more than just one or two astronauts at one time. I walked into that room and was just stunned to see so many of my heroes all in one place, something I had only dreamed was possible for close to 40 years! And not in my wildest dreams from childhood would I think there was a chance of shaking hands with Alexei Leonov. I will be forever thankful for everyone involved in putting that show together.
