Came across this on Astro-Auction: You can add Cernan at Spacefest and Schmitt at our signing in the spring. It's mentioned under an Evans signed photo.I'm sure that means Schmitt will not be on the list for Spacefest (not that I thought he might be). Regards, Stefan |

Does anyone know why Schmitt doesn't do autograph shows? Is it just a matter of personal preference? I would imagine he'd do quite well at a public signing. Jamie |

An astronaut once told me he regards sitting at an Autograph Show less dignified than a private signing. Some people don't like directly handling 'the filthy lucre'. |

Good point... I didn't think of that. I met Schmitt a few years ago at a book signing and he was very personable. He seemed like he really enjoyed talking with his fans so I thought he'd be a natural to want to do public signings.Maybe he could have a 'helper' handle the transactions or use a ticket system like I've seen at shows in the past where cash isn't actually handed over at his table but rather at a register outside the room. Just a thought... it'd be really neat to have Schmitt attend one of these shows one day. Jamie |

It was a $150 base fee, with more for multi-signed, completions, 3D, betacloth, covers, and baseballs. |

It was $275 last time around, though that could certainly change for the next signing. |
