*Regarding your landscape artwork, do you paint outside from life, from photos or both?
*Regarding your aircraft paintings, do you ever create your own backgrounds or stay true to reference photos?
*Do you ever use other mediums besides watercolor?
*Do you have a desire to ever fly in space again?
*What were your first thoughts when it was confirmed Apollo 11 would be the first manned lunar landing mission?

Question:When you were director of the National Air & Space Museum, did you ever climb into the Apollo 11 CM for old times sake? Ever invite Aldrin & Armstrong to join you? Dave Scott

Was wondering if you ever regretted the decision not to take the back-up CDR assignment on Apollo 14, allowing you an opportunity to land on the Moon on Apollo 17?

1. In the event that the Eagle wasn't able to lift off from the lunar surface following the EVA, how long would Columbia have been allowed to stay in lunar orbit? Would the decision for the timing of the TEI burn been yours to make...or were there mission rules stating that you had to initiate TEI by a certain point, no matter what the status of the Eagle was? In other words, would you have been allowed to stay until the consumables reached critical levels?2. The current plans to return to the moon have the command module being unmanned while crews visit the lunar surface. Do you have an opinion, either way, about the importance of leaving at least one person in lunar orbit...if for no other reason than to help troubleshoot rendezvous and docking problems? 3. What sight would you rank as being more beautiful...the Earth as seen from your Gemini X EVA or the lunar surface (and Earthrise) as seen from Columbia? I would like to hear Mike describe his interest in art to some detail.How did he get started painting? Who are his favorite artists? Which artists works does he enjoy to view, which artists does he consider as inspirational to his work? Does he have a favorite art museum, a favorite painting? I just read about how he met Norman Rockwell. What memories does he have of that event? Does he have any other great memories of meeting other artists? Kim Poor, Alan Bean, Cece Bibby etc...  What does the future hold for Mike's painting? Is he looking at other mediums? Other subjects? Okay, I think I have run the topic pretty far out now.

Two questions please:1. Shortly afetr leaving earth orbit Buzz Aldrin saw "lights" and asked Commander Armstrong if he had seen it. The reply was "Yes, I saw hundreds".
These were, apparently, high velocity Z particles that can pass through solid mass. Did you experience this phenomena and if so, what was the sensation and were there after effects.
2. During the outward flight, having seen lights out of the CSM window, I believe Commander Armstrong asked Mission Control there whereabouts of the SL4B booster rocket.
Houston replied that it was
was 6,000 miles away. Was the original question a coded message reporting the possible sighting of a UFO? Thank you

Dear Gen. Collins,In your watercolors, two paintings that intrigue me are "Doggone" (poodle with the gator hiding in the bushes) and another whose title escapes me (It had the view of the garage through the windshield of an Impala type car.) Was "Doggone" a real scene once observed on a quiet afternoon walk ? It seems to me to have multiple meanings, or am I reading too much into it ? On the windshield view painting: If I relate similarly, a real feeling of warmth and security is gained by being home and seeing home through the windsheild. All is well ! In some way did you intend this to be a metaphor of looking back at home with the lesson that while a space view of earth is dramatic the view through the car is equally as profound ?
