From Lunar Legacies: The auction will start, in real-time one lot at a time, at promptly 9:00 AM Pacific time on Saturday morning, Oct. 28, 2017, at Invaluable and AuctionZip.Please do not message through Invaluable; use this address. Very important. Beforehand, please go to invaluable.com and select any currently running live auction to test your connection — you may have to do an update to get in. There should be 10-15 auctions running at any particular time. If you see, during the live auction, a significant series of Floor Bids come up, that is simply getting the bidding to the correct level. For example, if two mail bids are on an item, one for $500 and another for $800, and the lot opens up at $200, then it will be quickly bid up to $550 for the $800 bidder, and then wait to see if there is an internet bidder. Also, Invaluable does not allow reserves, so Lunar Legacies must bid as a floor bidder until the consignor's reserve is met. There are only maybe 10 reserves in the auction. Mail bids will take priority over live internet bids, since they were entered usually days before. Invoices will go out to all winning bidders no later than two days after the auction — lots of work to do to generate them! Thanks, and we hope to see everyone there and good luck! |

Well, that was unfortunate. The auction said it was taking a 15 minute break around #361. I came back about 8 minutes later and they had come back, continued through item 366, and then said they were taking a 15 minute break.I would have bid more than what lots 363 and 364 (the Apollo 13 crew signed swatch cards) went for — unfortunate for the consignors. On the plus side, I was able to pickup the Skylab flown flag on certificate. Which is nice. |

First auction for me... learned some good lessons on how to bid and lost out on many, though did pick up two coins and a Lucite, so happy. |

Which coins did you win? I pre-bidded on the two Russian table medals (Lots 859 and 868), but didn't win them. I was fortune enough to win Lot 791: Russian Space Dogs Medal With Flown Metal, Chernushka.I was looking through the results and I wish I was on at the start, with some not sold. I wish I could go back and buy them after the fact! I noticed that a few things that would have garnered some prices didn't, especially with the flown items. Interestingly, some Beta cloth patches went for "eBay prices." Is this a sign that there's too much in the "market?" |

Won a few of the SFA/MFA coins with the certificate early in auction and at end the Apollo-Soyuz coin (still working on trying to figure out if flown). So you were one of the people to outbid me on the Sputnik coins. Honestly, had stopped following as it went on so long, so wasn't around for the live bidding and lost those three coins. Probably would have gone higher if I had been online at time (one of lessons learned). | |
