Berlin firm Auctionata will conduct a 104-lot auction of Russian memorabilia on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014. Important symbols of freedom and technological advancement characterize this versatile auction. Among the Soviet spaceflight memorabilia, you will find a cognac bottle, signed by the first man in space, Juri Gagarin, who drank from it with other cosmonauts. Furthermore, you will also be able to bid on a tube of coffee, signed by the cosmonaut Pavel Popovitsch after it accompanied him into space. A hand-signed photo album and a moon globe belonging to Yuri Naumovich Lipsky from the year 1967 await you alongside other unique items. |

There is a really neat sale of space stuff from the Soviet space program. My favorite is the dog space suit! There is also a cognac bottle signed by the first man in space. Really cool. I'm linking to where you can look at the items. I don't think you can bid yet, but you can at least browse. Definitely worth checking out. Editor's note: Threads merged. |

collectSPACE Dog spacesuit among artist's Soviet space artifacts being auctionedA German pop artist who once painted the side of a Russian rocket is selling his collection of Soviet space memorabilia, including pieces of his own space art and a "dog space suit." Andreas Hoge, better known by his one-name pseudonym Andora, consigned more than 100 Russian space program artifacts and collectibles to the Berlin-based auction house Auctionata. The Sept. 13 sale will be held in Germany and online. In 1992, Andora was commissioned to decorate a space-bound Proton booster while he participated in commercial cosmonaut training in Star City, Russia. It was during this time that he began amassing his space collection. |

The dog space suit (lot 33) sold for 14,000€ (about $18,145), which was 6,000€ ($7,775) more than the pre-auction estimate. The Gagarin-signed Vostok 1 fragment sold for 7,500€ ($9,720), which was just over its pre-auction estimate of 6,000€ ($7,775). The full results are here. About half of the lots went unsold. |

With auction houses all reporting sale prices differently, must one add a buyers fee to the prices shown in this particular auction as it is one I have never utilized and not clear on their reporting figures? If so, how much (if anything) needs to be added to the dog suit or is that the buyers total price? Thanks |

According to Auctionata: The sales price of the respective items listed in the Online Shop includes the Buyer's Premium. Auctionata's buyer's premium is 23.80% for hammer prices up to 1 million euros. |

The reason I ask about the premium is when one looks at the dog suit it shows 14,000 Euros as the sales price. All other prices are also basically round numbers 300, 600, 1000, etc., which would be impossible if the buyers premium is included. I am looking at the pictures with the prices under them, am I looking in the wrong place for prices with buyers commissions? I hope that makes sense... |

Those round numbers are the hammer prices. The total "sales" price as Robert indcated will include the premium which can be as high as 23.8% (including VAT). For shipment to the USA the premium is 20% since VAT does not apply. Not sure why they have a lumped premium that includes VAT. It is rather confusing. |

And I just learned that they are asking 2-3 weeks for shipping. I only went for the Astronomic Angle Measuring Device of Valentina Tereshkova. Does anyone know where or how she used this device? The listing reads: "This is an angle measuring device of the Russian aerospace for astronomic navigation, especially for calculation of flight angles. It was personally used by the Soviet cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova. It is the model CMK 3" |

In addition to the 23.80% premium there is another fee of close to 3% of the total for shipping insurance, even within Germany — pretty steep in my opinion. Also if you buy a cover or flat item up to 2kg, minimum shipping fee internationally is 105,- Euro.I was surprised though that on my invoice VAT on the premium was not separately listed, will have to check if that is correct. All in all not very competitive when you ask me. |

I was very disappointed in today so that an item be purchased without auction, number 23.By auction round one I did not have internet but the item was not sold, I ask of I can buy it so for the asking price, no there will a second auction, and today I got a mail (dutch time 12:34) that I can buy it so, I click on the link and on 12:35 it was sold. Really crappy this way of communicating and promise of Auctionata. |
