Regency-Superior proudly presents its October 2014 Space and Collectibles Public Auction. 420 lots will go up on the auction block on Wednesday, Oct. 15. The auction will be held live on the internet beginning at 11 a.m. (Central Time) at RegencySuperior.com. A highlight from this auction is a prototype for the first Surveyor satellite engine body (Lot 50). The Vernier engine was of critical importance to provide propulsion for trajectory correction maneuvers, attitude and velocity control. Attractive item, with 24 Karat Gold plating and highly polished aluminum control arm. Another highlight from this auction is Lot 88, a beautiful NASA litho of the Moon shot during the Apollo 17 mission shortly after it left the Moon to return to Earth. It has been signed in black marker by 15 different Apollo astronauts, including Aldrin, Bean, Lovell and Shepard. If it's a Neil Armstrong autograph that you're looking for, we've got several from which to choose. Lot 108 is a B&W image of Buzz Aldrin deploying a lunar surface experiment package during the Apollo 11 mission. This litho bears a bold signature of Neil Armstrong. Also included in this auction are several models including Lot 416, a highly detailed, large-scale model of the 1971 Soviet Mars-3 Space Probe. Details and accuracy of model are of the highest museum quality. The entire auction is now available online for viewing and bidding (absentee and Live bidding) at RegencySuperior.com. Free color catalogs are available by calling toll-free 1-800-782-0066. For specific questions regarding this space auction, please contact Alan Lipkin at alipkin@RegencySuperior.com. Good luck with your bidding! |

Not much in terms of flown memorabilia, which is a shame as that is my main collector interest. What I wouldn't give to see some Apollo flown food up there! |

If I am not mistaken, Regency Superior has a 19% buyers fee (as per their catalog) which is one of the lowest out there now.20%, 22.5%, 25% seems to be the norm and depending on where you live domestically, sales tax can be a killer. FYI. |

Lot 88 is from 1994, I think. Look on the back. It was made after Irwin died, and right around the time when Armstrong became tough. It's not from the 1970s. |

We have amended the lot description to read: "Litho issued by NASA in Jan, 1994, with signatures obtained later." As our original description states, this photograph was taken during the Apollo 17 mission after it left the Moon to return to Earth. Irwin and Armstrong were never listed in our description as signing this litho. Thank you. |

When this auction was first mentioned, there were 83 "Apollo" exhibits. Now, ten days before the auction, there are still 83 "Apollo" exhibits. Am I looking at an old version of the site, or is business slow? |

Unless I am misunderstanding the question, most auction houses do not increase their lot count once publishing their catalog. |

I see your point. I suppose it depends when the catalogue is published, but I'm sure I've seen auctions (Lunar Legacies?) where the number of lots has continued to increase until quite close to the date of the auction. |

Regency-Superior, like other auction houses that publish physical catalogs, have clients who only consult the hard copy version. Hence, one they go to print, they generally freeze their lot count. |
